It was reported by the Press Association that Ferguson has struck a pay-as-you-play deal, with the player also taking a significant salary cut from the £110,000-a-week wages he was said to be on at St James' Park.

Looks a poor signing for a club like Man U. Even on a free, with the wages involved I'd suggest it's money down the pan.

Free for a player who was bought for £17 Million, and if he's on pay as you play as well sounds a brilliant deal.

If he's injured then we lose nothing, if he plays he will probably do well. For this transfer to go through he would have needed to pass the medical (which look hard) so that would suggest he is fit again.

Just add the bargain to the likes of - Peter Schmeichel, Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, Bryan Robson, Ronaldo, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Absolutely delighted Tevez and Barry have/will go to City, I've seen nothing concrete to show they were our two main targets, but I'll take your word as you only deal with the 'facts'

This week BFS said Rovers won't try to sign Owen because of his injury record but according to sky text were being linked in Italy to 35year old Christian Vieri who hasn't played more than 10 league games in a season since 2005
