If Stoke are scoring 3 against you, you know it's bad, mate!
Thought their first goal was as stuffy as they come. Players slip and fall, but that was just about the worst place and time a player could slip. How much it had to do with boots I don't know as I don't recall him slipping again.
I actually fell asleep during the game last night as I was pretty ill, I thought Rodgers got so much wrong he really needs to get his head out of his a*se. Joe Cole offers us nothing, make him train on his own and get rid. He offers nothing yet he continues to play. Allen should have started, Gerrard should have been more advanced and Shelvey shouldn't have played. Shelvey isn't quick, it's his strength and movement that does him good, strength and movement were never going to work against Stoke.
Our biggest problem at the moment is we have too many players that just do the basics, we don't offer any kind of regular threat against the opposition. If Suarez isn't on song, or Sterling is off, we don't have anybody that will 'take it' to the opposition, i.e. run at players, get close to the box and pick them apart with through balls or simply have a good long dig. A lot of what we do is harmless stuff, aiming to get Suarez on the ball in dangerous positions, but, as we've shown this season, it will only work so often, most teams can deal with it quite easily. Sturridge coming in will help but we're desperate for more from Gerrard. Sterling is a great prospect, his dribbling and speed is brilliant when he's on, but he obviously needs to develop and it's a tad embarrassing that we're so reliant upon him. I think Rodgers should have kept Suso on and taken Shelvey off, but oh well. The best we were going to get yesterday was a point, we can't play against Stoke at all, they have always been too powerful and they regularly bully us, it's nothing new.
