Liverpool are hilarious. For all the attempts to make out that they are shooting for Barcelona in terms of style, they were completely outplayed by Stoke. Anyone who attempts to say otherwise is clearly Stokeist, or a deluded red.

How bad can it get for Rodgers before he starts to come under pressure? He seemed a good choice of coach, I was mildly worried about him going there. Does he get the whole season, irrespective of position (So long as they aren't relegated) or would he get the same treatment Hodgson got?

Another comfortable win for Everton today, but Jelavic's lack of goals and performance levels in general this season has got to be a concern for Moyes? He looked very off the boil today and is starting to look like he's turning into the new James Beattie, Darren Bent or Yakubu, starting with a hell of a bang then the goals dry up. Leon Osman was outstanding again today I thought, he's got the best feet of any English player. He's got Spanish-level quality with his technical ability and does so much quality work that just goes unnoticed.

Who has said we are aiming to play like Barca? I went last night and it was pur worst performance of the season quite easily but LFC fans like WFII expecting us to win every gane and acheive instant success you are way off the mark. Still rebuilding, trying to fix the mistakes from previous managers. Having said that, Rodgers' tactical decisions were badly wrong last night which is suprising as he has been spot on in terms of that so far.

Comfortable win? 2-1 and the first goal was by a wicked deflection, their keeper had no chance, add to that Wigan should of had a penalty. Absolutley clueless.

If Stoke are scoring 3 against you, you know it's bad, mate!

Thought their first goal was as stuffy as they come. Players slip and fall, but that was just about the worst place and time a player could slip. How much it had to do with boots I don't know as I don't recall him slipping again.

I actually fell asleep during the game last night as I was pretty ill, I thought Rodgers got so much wrong he really needs to get his head out of his a*se. Joe Cole offers us nothing, make him train on his own and get rid. He offers nothing yet he continues to play. Allen should have started, Gerrard should have been more advanced and Shelvey shouldn't have played. Shelvey isn't quick, it's his strength and movement that does him good, strength and movement were never going to work against Stoke.

Our biggest problem at the moment is we have too many players that just do the basics, we don't offer any kind of regular threat against the opposition. If Suarez isn't on song, or Sterling is off, we don't have anybody that will 'take it' to the opposition, i.e. run at players, get close to the box and pick them apart with through balls or simply have a good long dig. A lot of what we do is harmless stuff, aiming to get Suarez on the ball in dangerous positions, but, as we've shown this season, it will only work so often, most teams can deal with it quite easily. Sturridge coming in will help but we're desperate for more from Gerrard. Sterling is a great prospect, his dribbling and speed is brilliant when he's on, but he obviously needs to develop and it's a tad embarrassing that we're so reliant upon him. I think Rodgers should have kept Suso on and taken Shelvey off, but oh well. The best we were going to get yesterday was a point, we can't play against Stoke at all, they have always been too powerful and they regularly bully us, it's nothing new.

O'Driscoll offed by Forest hours after giving Dirty Leeds a gubbing as well. Utterly ridiculous.

Re: Football Chat Thread PART II : Thu Dec 27, 2012 12:19 pm
I'm a Liverpool fan and read this forum every week. Usually avoid commenting and just sit and laugh at other Liverpool fans opinions.

Last night was terrible. We're 1-0 up at Stoke who are unbeaten at home and had only conceded about 4 goals. The 10 minutes following were the most important of the game, if we'd have defended basically and played with a bit of smartness for that 10 minutes we'd have knocked the stuffing out of the place and gained complete control of the game.

Apparently we've got two big, physical centre backs who can head the ball but they were dominated for 75 minutes by one man. Shevley should have come off at half time, he found himself time and time again between the back 4 and the midfield but continually tossed the ball away. Allen should have come on and pushed Gerrard into that area.

I can accept losing to Stoke as their home record is fantastic but they were three of the most predictable goals you will ever see scored (Walters' finish was top draw to be fair and had Suarez scored it people would be creaming themselves) but again it came from losing a header and not getting to a second ball. After being one up so early we should have had more about us to see at least the next 10 minutes out.

It's a good job there's some proper dross in this division or else we would be seriously struggling. Sunday is a must win at QPR. We really are a top 8 club at the moment but with WBA, Stoke and Swansea looking miles better than us we'll struggle to to even make that.

Welcome

RE: Gerrard, you're going to be royally screwed when he retires if there's nobody due to replace him. Can't see Suarez sticking around either if there's no European football on offer, he should be playing in the Champions League

Pantomime season is well and truly in at Blackburn with Berg given less than 2 months to turn the dross left behind by Kean into a football team.Surely no half decent manager will want anything to do with the Rovers job with a with that halfwit Singh as a boss.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

 ....Sorry, no sympathy here - You sold your soul to a load of halfwits, now you get your dues.

Also, interesting that the odds on Singh himself becoming boss are tumbling fast!!... ......Now that would be hilarious!!...
