Bielsa leaving Athletic is a big deal. I reckon players like Martinez, Llorente et al would have been happy to stay for him, but while uncertainty remains, I can see them being tempted elsewhere. The new man needs to be in place soon. Presuming Guardiola is still roller-blading down Santa Monica Boulevard, Cesar Sampaoli is the man for me.

Barça after Martínez according to Sport this morning. Doubt they'd be willing to meet his get-out clause of €40m though.

Been rumoured for a while, as has Llorente to the same destination. Can you imagine a centre-back pairing of Pique and Martinez? Would two more relaxed players ever have played together before?

Any Serie A followers on here, who could give me a report on Bologna's Gaston Ramirez? Heavily linked with a move to LFC.

You were talking about Spurs being bigger than Chelsea. Spurs have won a couple of cups in my lifetime. Chelsea have won the league a few times, some FA Cups and a Champions League. That's more evidence than I need. Why isn't that evidence enough to suggest that?

Hoddle ? I just hope no disabled people try to get in the ground. You should never have let Redknapp go.

Can't take Hoddle seriously, after all that conkers with the "laying on of hands" woman, Eileen (Drewery?)

I personally don't care about his personal beliefs - they are not football related and in no way affected the footballing job he did for England or any of the subsequent clubs he managed - why should anyone care about his personal beliefs ? People are too touchy, PC gone really mad !

He continues to fundraise for many groups, including handicapped groups just like the majority of high profile sportsmen and women, RL personalities included but I suppose positive news doesn't sell the red tops..

I think 'Arry should have stayed just like I feel Martin Jol should have been given the chance and real money to develop his squad after twice taking the club to fifth spot - Daniel Levy with pressure from Joe Louis is a lowlife and the appointment of Comolli was an insult to anyone with a naus of footballing knowlege, ask any LFC fan

AVB will be a failure at any Premiership outfit unless he's given hundreds of millions of £££s like José or Roberto where it really doesn't or didn't matter who the job of manager was given to - any fool can do it with mega bucks at their disposal unless they are lucky enough to have a 'golden generation' to fall back on but those days are sadly gone...

Suppose it depends on your age.....To me, minus the Abramovich years, Chelsea are a yo-yo mid table side, in the West Ham mould, winning very little.....Spurs were/are a regular top 6 side, with a very good pedigree in the Cups.

To be fair to Chelsea, they are the one 'small' club who truly embraced the Premier League.....They are very much the Bradford Bulls of football, in that they saw the ambition of the revamped competition and gave it a great shot in gaining success....They'd probably end up in the same mire as the Bulls too, if Roman ever decided to pull out of the club.

Before Abramovich came Chelsea won the FA Cup in 1997 and 2000, the Cup Winners Cup in 98, the League Cup in 98.

Spurs last won the FA Cup in 91 and the League Cup in 99.

Chelsea had just qualified for the Champions League. They'd already played in the CL in 99. Tottenham had never played in the CL.
