Lefty, as a City fan, it mighht not be wise to point out sore losing considering Mr Balotelli's behaviour after Arteta's recent late winner.....
In Balotelli's defence, wasn't he acting like a complete **** all game? He didn't turn nasty when Citeh went down, he started off nasty and just stayed with it.
Never got to see much of the game tonight, just a bit on my break. Glad Real got beat, I still think Bayern could snag a result in Madrid but it will require a masterclass defensively. I don't fancy the Madrid defence to keep a clean sheet so the away goals should cancel each other out, but a lot will depend on how well Bayern's attackers defend, if Ribery, Robben, etc. get out there and hound Madrid off the ball, they could sneak away with a result, but there's a lot of ifs and the chances are probably against Bayern, the away goal really hurt them.
This myth that Martinez has Latics playing 'good, passing, stylish (add your own) football' is hilarious. Take a look on the Latics forums and you'll see just how many fans who watch the team week-in, week-out buy into this media created fairytale.
We do try to play football, the problem is that for the most part of the season.................we can't.

I agree.
If you believe the media, every manager in England has his side playing 'passing football'. Heck, I've seen some people say Tony Pulis plays a good brand of football, with expansive wideplay.
Still, I think Martinez makes more of an effort to play football than most of the managers at the other weaker sides, whether he's this future GOAT that Whelan made him out to be, I'm not so sure.
Bloody Mario Gomez. Couldn't trap a bag of sand, looks totally inconsequential throughout and then pops up with a winner. He defies all logic. He's awful, he's the new Luca Toni, but he keeps shinning in two-yarders.

Ah, but there's an art to being in the right place to shin in those two yarders.
He's more an elite Francis Jeffers, without the ears.
