Of course personality matters. Shankly's personality is one of the things that massively endeared him to supporters. Mourinho's personality is a reason many have been against any possibility of him coming here, whilst Roy's ramblings in the press have added further emphasis on his 'annoyance' towards supporters.

Results and performances obviously matter, denying so would be stupid, but the personality of the coach and the way he endears himself to supporters matters a lot, too.

There are various fools on Talksport suggesting Torres only put in a good performance yesterday quote 'to put himself in the shop window to Chelsea'. Id have thought to be put in a shop window you'd have to perform consistently not just one game against a potential suitor.

Do not take the bait. They simply wind-up fans of popular clubs so they can make money out of them calling telephone numbers that cost 50p per minute.

Would fan's opinions of Hodgson change should he bring home the premier league title??? I think so

Surely fans care far more about results then the image/personality of the manager, it's a no brainer for me. Whats more, Jose Mourinho is a proven manager at the highest level and I would've loved him at Anfield regardless of his personality.
