AFAIK Beckford is out of contract at the end of the season, that's why the fee is said to be £2m.

I can't think of many centre backs i'd pay that for at the moment.

Plus if he didn't sign a new contract between now and the summer would you want him going on a free transfer? I doubt it!

Yes he has scored goals but i promotion is worth more than the 1.5 or so we will get for him now (don't agree we are up yet plenty of time to love it up ask any newcastle fan about a big lead) anyways if & when we go up with him on board does he seriously think there will be a bigger club in the championship than leeds,I don't think so! So yes he could choose to go to newcastle & play for 6 months but if they go up well I am sorry but he is no premier league striker! Imo its his agent turning his head,let's not forget this kid was fitting windscreens 5yr ago!

Looks like Viera is close to signing for City. A good signing IMO as he will bring the right mentality and a bit of leadership to the dressing room. A wealth of experience.

Not good enough for the Premier League IMHO and Im not sure he will ever get the chance a Championship player at best unless a lower end Premiership club fancies taking a risk!

Of course I may well be wrong but thats up to him to prove
