Interesting that 5 Man Utd, 5 Arsenal and a Spurs player make up my PL team.....only one of the team currently plays in the PL.

That's how my team would go. Probably controversial leaving out Giggs, Giggs has been better over his career but I think if both were in their pomp, I'd take Pires over him for a one off game. Never really rated Neville that highly, he won a lot and played in some good sides, but I'd take Sagna over him as a player. Would probably have had Robben in there over Pires if he stayed a little longer, such a top player.

Theres a video on everyones favourite video sharing site entitled ''gary neville diving masterclass on MNF''

Which takes a segment of last night arsenal wigan coverage when the topic is diving.

As a pundit, neville really is top notch. He doesn't just tow the party line or reiterate the popular media opinion, he tells it like it is.

It's a 15 minute segment where neville basically launches into a speech about diving in the modern game over the past 20 years with video examples and analysis.

One great point he makes is that many players see a potential on coming challenge and jump in anticipation to prevent potential injury, the defender pulls out, the attacker hits the deck and it looks like they've taken a blatant dive.

I CBA to watch the video, but there's also the point that often a tackler won't foul someone bad enough to trip them up, but they will make enough contact to put them off so it's easier for a team mate to go in and take the ball away.

That's still a foul, but unless a player actually goes to ground refs will rarely give the free kick for it.

It really is a shades of grey discussion. I still think that even the worst divers generally get fouled more than they get free kicks, so in many ways I agree with the "evening things up" mentality of the diver. But I think most British supporters live in the scouse "we never dive" dream world.
