Well done Latics. It's a shame that the best we can expect is for them to narrowly avoid relegation rather than challenge for honours (and laud it as an achievement), but there you go.

I sent my mate a congratulations text; he replied by saying that we should get out of his stadium and that we can keep the "M62 cup". I asked him what trophy his side had just won, and he replied with a load more abuse.

THAT is why I'm not overly bothered whether Wigan Athletic stay up or go down. The team doesn't offend me as I don't really care for Association Football. I don't hate it, it just bores me silly. But is has to be said, the attitudes of some of WAFC's supporters aren't exactly welcoming.

Perhaps that's what you should tell the people who are easily winding you up by supporting a team in a sport you seem to have no interest in.

Anyway back on topic - as Lenegan has already stated, it is in our commercial interests to see the Latics in the Premiership. Given this it's a no brainer why it's good to see them stay up, even for those who dislike them/have no interest in football.

All the Latics fans i know think that the people who post on cockney latic are dribbling divs. It's a bit unfair to generalise all Latics fans based on the crap they come out with, just like it would be unfair if Latics fans generalised about us based on the posts of our most bitter fans. All very childish. If people could grow up and stop hating for the sake of hating we would probably have a few more cross over fans and both teams might be a bit better off.

Congratulations to the Latics. I'm not a Latics fan or a football fan, but I can see that them staying up is good for us and good for the town, and I wish them all the best for next season, even if some of their fans hate us
