yeah City are struggling defencively at the minute.
they atrted off the season not conceding in there first 4 games and since they conceded there first goal they havent kept a clean sheet since.
Deary me.
In the games we have conceded, we have played Arsenal, Villa (away) and United (away) and Wigan (away). United and Arsenal are top teams, while Villa and Wigan are in decent form, with the latter scoring 3 against Chelsea (who arguably have the best defence in the league).
Yesterday, we had a new centre-back pairing (Richards and Lescott). Then when Zabba got sent-off, Kompany came on for his first appearance of the season, to play alongside Lescott for the first time. I'd say they coped quite well considering. Let's face it, apart from teh goal, Wigan only had 20+ yard pot-shots at goal when we had a compliment of players on the pitch.
IMo our defence has looked very good, in the main. On the floor, we have been superb. United created one chance on the floor against us. However, that game highlights our weakness. Adebayor defends near post, while Lescott in the middle. The opposition team need to simply get it over Lescott and we look vulnerable.
Lescott is getting better each game. I thought he carried Richards yesterday, and played with great assurance and calmness.
