Your bait is getting less and less well disguised.
I've been busy hence not posting but I'll indulge you....
Here are my thoughts on the game. Our defence was absolutely terrible - worse than last year if it is even possible.
We couldn't stop the big plays (blown coverages, missed tackles, missmatches on defence (LB covering Moss)) and couldn't even stop the obvious stuff like runs. We have 2 possibly three brilliant players (Clay, Woodson and maybe Tramon Williams) but they are easy to gameplan against when the rest of the players play like crap. With our offence we don't need a brilliant defence. We just need a defence capable of making a stop every now and then and getting turnovers.
Offensively it was frustrating. It was a very stop start game for us and we went ages without possessions given the poor D. When we did have it San Fran defended well and frustrated us. The flags were late (note i'm not saying they were wrong) which also added to our frustration. With the D as bad as it is A-Rod needs to have the same standard year as he did last season for us to be in with a shout. I do think we'll come good on offence.
In the end the scoreline flattered us - never a TD for the Cobb return.
I think we will be better against Chicago but short of a miraculous turnaround in the D it will all be on Rodgers to win a shootout because we will not stop Cutler to Marshall and Forte. I could see a loss coming up.
As for Luck. Never said he was better than RG3. In fact i've said all along that RG3 will be the better QB but I expected Luck to be better straight away given he is more of a conventional type QB. There was always the chance with RG3 that he wouldn't be able to handle the hits straight away given his build, or his decision making would be suspect initially and he'd just take off running.
If Sunday is anything to go by he has no issues. He is a brilliant rusher, and unlike many other running QB's, he is a very accurate passer.
