Before the game the commentator was making out that Villa were in great form and Chelsea were in awful form. He included Villa's COC win in their form guide, but obviously Chelsea's 5-1 win at Leeds didn't count, nor did our last game in the league.
Villa were pretty dreadful. Benteke put in a fantastic defensive play for us today. Every Villa attack was killed at the start by him being caught offside. Gotta wonder if the bloke has ever heard of the offside rule on the evidence of today's game.
I thought the opening half hour was pretty awful, saved by the two good goals. After that it was just a case of how many.
The Villa job is still a bigger job than the Norwich job. Don't blame Lambert for taking it at all. It might not turn out well for him, but staying at Norwich would have potentially seen him relegated within a couple of years and then he'd have probably never seen an opportunity like Aston Villa.
