I attended the Wigan/Gunners game today. It was very dull. Wigan were very hard to breakdown and having Walcott as the lone striker did us no favours. Theo, sign the new contract or walk away. You persisting you're a forward is kidding nobody.
Santi Carzola and Wilshere were a joy to watch. One of the few positives.

I hope he signs a new deal with Arsenal. I'm having nightmares that the rumour that we're going to get rid of Sturridge to the scousers and replace him with Walcott are true.
I try to believe that CFC wouldn't be so dumb to complete two ridiculous pieces of business, but I think they are.

I reckon Sturridge to Liverpool is pretty much nailed-on. I don't think your lot NEED Walcott,
Looks like Harry is getting his excuses in early for QPR getting relegated, if today's after match interview is anything to go by.
I admire his honesty, but he's only confirming what many people already knew, and that is all those 'superstar' summer signings were just going to Loftus Road for the cash.
I mean £65k a week for Boswinga???... .......Fook me, after his displays at Chelsea, I wouldn't have give him a third of that.
It makes you wonder what the other players are on and what their overall wage bill is...If they are all on OTT salaries like that, then I imagine it will be mighty difficult to budge them from their comfy contracts in January?
I'd say with bad management like that (not just from Hughes), they will fully deserve to get relegated.
Sturridge having a medical tomorrow at Anfield say The Echo who are normally spot on.
Sturridge is a funny one.....He seems to have a lot of potential, yet nobody ever seems willing to give him a chance to prove himself.
At City, prior to their recent success, he never got much of a chance and was allowed to leave without much of a fight, and its fair to say he has never been trusted or given much opportunity at Chelsea.
It looks like he might finally get a chance to play consistantly at Anfield, so we will finally get to see if he is the real deal, or another over-rated, overpriced Englishman....He definitely, in Suarez, has the strike partner who will provide goalscoring chances, so it looks promising, but from certain reports he does appear to have a bit of an attitude, so I think it will be interesting how it all unfolds.

I presume the managers discuss players they would like to have
its then up to the board / owners to agree deals
that as you say makes for ridiculous reading
"I fined a player last week and he was earning more than any player earned at Tottenham. You shouldn't be paying massive wages when you've got a stadium that holds 18,000 people. "Newcastle holds 52,000 and most of their players will be nowhere near some of the wages some of the players are earning here."

I think there is a touch of irony with Harry higlighting this mis-management, seeing as he oversaw a similar situation at Portsmouth, which ultimately lead to them being bankrupt and in the mess they presently are.
To be fair, its a football problem, and until clubs start calling the bluff of ruthless agents, then clubs will continue to hurtle towards financial problems.
