What a shocking tourament is been upto now, only been 1 decent game Germans v Australia and South Africa/Mexico wasnt to bad either but apart from them 2 its been awful

Hopefully Brazil will score a few tonight which will hopefully kickstart the tourament

Worst World Cup of all time? Certainly the worst in the 20 years in which I've seen WC tournaments.

TBH most World Cups are pretty much the same. The hype says that this is the pinnacle of football and the one all players strive for. In truth international football is always hampered by most sides barely knowing each other and the WC/Euro's are hampered by players being knackered from their clubs season beforehand as well.

International football has been on the decline for years, yet people still use it as the mark of great players. I think the CL is better than the world cup.

In the same way that many think State of Origin is the pinnacle of rugby rather than the Four Nations or World Cup?

I don't know. I don't watch much international rugby and I haven't watched Origin for a few years. I think the NRL is the best league and a player can only be deemed truly world class if he's performed to a world class standard over there. When I did watch international rugby, just like with football, I felt it was undermined by being at the end of the season when the players were shattered/carrying knocks.
