My comment was merely about the Somerset game, not the season

Oh well, a thumping on TV, luckily its the we-were-already-out-of cup, so sod that, rather win the T20 one instead

Brad Fitler "If the ref's decision decides your game. You haven't done enough prior."

Referees are like women, they make snap decisions and never reverse them.

This may have already been mentioned but cba/ too lazy to trawl through all 30 odd pages of this thread. How long have teams been able to use 12 players during a championship game? Notice Lancs did it in their last game against Warwickshire and Essex have nominated 12 playes today.

This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC

Re: County Cricket 2010 : Mon May 24, 2010 12:23 pm
Yorkshire back in the saddle straight away against Hampshire at Southampton today.

Put in to bat by the home side, 115-0 at lunch.

No Lumb or Pietersen for Hants, no Bresnan or Shahzad for Yorkshire. Gale back for Ballance, Pyrah in for Wainwright as the fourth seamer.

Adam Lyth going well again, he's been outstanding so far this season.

Not looking good for Lancs unless they can skittle Essex for around 200 tomorrow. Need to sort our batting out or Yorkshire could give us a pasting. Opening the batting with two opening batsmen might be a good idea to start with.

IIRC if a player has been on England duty but is then released by the ECB back to their county they can replace a player in a Championship game which has already started providing the player being replaced has not yet batted or bowled in that match.

Hampshire did it in the current game with Michael Lumb, who wasn't in the 11 named at the toss. Might have been part of the reason why they opted to field on winning the toss, not that it did them much good with him being out for a duck and all.

No chance of the Yorkies giving us a pasting, only one possible winner in this and it ain't Yorkshire. Although a result relies on Lancs skittling Yorks for less than 216. 170/7 as I type this.
