Well he pointedly only mentions Aston Villa.

Southgate, Barry and Vassell are the only AV players I can think of in England squads that he participated in?

Paul Scholes - two fingers to England. Roy Keane - two fingers to Ireland. Ryan Giggs - two fingers to Wales.

They're United, they'll do what they want. And while doing what they want, they'll run their mouths about other players not being as committed as they are.

The absolute best thing for Scholes was that he dodged playing for England. Now all he ever gets is blowjobs from journos and United fans saying how much England missed him. When the fact is England would have failed just as badly with Scholes in the team as they did without him.

I could give a to55 about United players turning their backs on their countries. I don't care about international football and I wish our players would put club before country in the way that United players do.

But I hate the fact that United players get a pass, and in fact get credit, for dropping their country, while players at other sides would get hammered for it.

He clearly couldn't be @rsed, or they all changed their preferences.

That sort of tactical awareness wasn't that prominent twenty years ago.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

When Qatar Airways inevitably do it with PSG, I bet he won't bat an eyelid.

TBH I thought you were BSing with that figure. But I've just seen that the figure is accurate, and you've got to say it's a clearly ridiculous deal to get round the financial fair play rules. UEFA should be all over the deal or else they might as well forget about the FFP rules.

How does it infringe the FFP rules?

Reading the article the point about selfish players and their 80 yard passes is a separate one to saying Aston Villa players, which I think is just him reaching for a mid-ranking club to name as opposed to someone specific.

It seems he has a testimonial to sell tickets for, I did wonder why he had suddenly become so opinionated over the last few weeks after a career of dodging the attention.

It's a BS deal.

Just like selling Shaun Wright Philips to Qatar Bluenoses FC for £100m would be.

If the FFP rules are that easy to get around, there's no point to them whatsoever.
