Does this say more about you and the reds fans you acquaint yourself with on Facebook than it does the expectations of Liverpool fans as a whole?
I'm a Liverpool fan, I know lots of other Liverpool fans and the reaction to the Carroll & Henderson signings and the Downing rumour ranges from underwhelmed to cautiously optimistic, as well as disbelief at the price. On the rare occasion I wander over to a site like RAWK (which has some of the most deluded red fans in the world), the reaction seems to be the same. Very little in the way of 'we're gunna win the league la!'. Just been on Facebook and I have no idiot friends claiming that Liverpool are going to win the league.
So what is it? Do you actually know and communicate with deluded reds that believe Downing is a title-winning signing? Or are you just another bitter blue, setting Liverpool fans up for a 'phoney fall' so that in 9 months time you can say "I told you so" because it's the only thing you can cling on to, year after year after year...?
