Don't talk rubbish. I am sure the two sets of fans had very similar emotions. Lots of United fans have seen crap times too. Football was around before the Premiership.

All of those achievements are good in their own right. But that still doesn't give them much credence when laughing at a club that got to the final of the European Cup.

Bad times??? One releghation and a decade of lower top 10 finishes (but a fair few Cup Finals along the way)....oh such hardship.

How many who watched them go down are still going to Old Trafford now.

Not many I would guess as they have been priced out by Tarquin and Heather from Surrey.

Manchester United do not care about fans from the 70's, 80's etc or even the now they want to just get bigger and bigger and squeeze the last penny out of everyone be they in Salford or Saudi Arabia.

I notice Exeter fans never felt the need to set up FC Exeter.

You do know United almost went bankrupt twice, don't you? You do know that United once only just escaped relegation to the third division, something which could've killed the club off, don't you?

Mid-table mediocrity, bottom half of the table finishes...

Even current times at United aren't exactly rosy. One 'bad' (in the context of the modern day United) season and the whole club goes tits up thanks to the large amounts of debt we're in.

You're right about United not caring about traditional supporters, though. But I don't see what that's got to do with the discussion? Unless you're being somewhat arrogant yourself, "I know what it's really like to see hardship. I'm a proper football supporter."


This is why I stopped posting on here for a while. It's impossible to have a sensible discussion for the most part.

But, as it is, he says that to one journo, then he tells Portugese TV he doesn't know if he'll be here next year, tells a Spanish newspaper man he admires the Spanish league etc etc, inviting the attention.
