Or maybe he's got an association with the Patriots that clouds your judgement.If Cassell doesn't perform this season with Weiss and Haley coaching him then you can call him overated but i think you'll be having to admit he's quite good after next season.

Not at all. I dislike the Patriots as an organisation and Bellichick since they are proven cheats. I don't have anything against the players any more than i dislike players from any other team.

I'm perfectly capable of calling him overrated now.

His average yards per pass is 5.9 29th in the league. His completion percentage is 27th in the league at 55%. His passer rating is 69.9, 25th in the league. He threw as many INT's as TD's. 1st down percentage is 26%, 31st in the league.

Basically his stats are the same or worse than Marc Bulger. If you consider Bulger a bad QB, Cassell also is. Not just based on stats but his accuracy is pretty poor and he seems to just check the ball down. He is bad.

If he can pick it up, fair play to him, but he is vastly overated, had too high a trade value (he is no better than Thigpen), and is vastly overpaid.

A load of stats pulled from the fact he played with the worst O line in the league (off the top of my head I believe the right tackle gave up 7 sacks alone) he had no WR's most of the season, Bowe was suspended for 4 games and they traded away Gonzalez - no QB in the NFL would have done well with that O line and only Chambers to pass the ball to.

As i've said, we had one of the worst O-Lines giving up 50 total sacks and Rodgers was still a top 5 QB.

They are stats but they support my general opinion of him that he is not very good at the deep balls, is incosistent in general and checks down alot.

Your making excuses for him which mean it'd be impossible to evaluate any QB. The same could be said for Bulger (as an example) that no QB could be succesful with what he has. Well how do you rate them then? Cassell is a bad QB even based on what he has.

I get what you're both saying. But how good your D is also has a massive bearing on how effective you are as a QB. i.e if you're defence is crap then your offence is having to force the ball, hence leading to more ints and mistakes.

Isn't the season 16 games? losing somebody for 4 games is hardly most of the season. It's not too often i agree with Conroy but let's be honest about Cassel. He didn't get a start in college at QB and was a career back up till Brady went down. Because of this he took over pretty much the best team in football and had an ok season for them, not outstanding but ok. KC offered far too much for him. Will he work out in the long run? Maybe but i would doubt it

Another mock draft up on the nfl.com website. Has us taking Suh with the 1st pick. Conroy's Clausen isn't slated to go in the 1st round at all according to them, Bradford been the top QB taken at 26 by the Cards.

My personal favourite QB in this draft is Colt McCoy, accurate, a leader and based on some of his college come back wins, fairly clutch I could see McDaniels taking him in the 2nd round and develop him for a year or 2.
