I heard that r.e Benitez on premier league world during an inter iew with him. I guess he isn't happy unless given £150 million to spunk on shat players.

Why jump ship? Because it's a far, far bigger club with considerably more potential than Wigan will ever have. Villa without Ashley Young and Downing are a far better team than Wigan IMO. Just my opinion of course.

With Martinez now out of the running (for now), McClaren and Benitez not being considered, you have to wonder will Villa make a big move for Moyes??.....I can imagine Lerner will now be under big pressure to fetch in a name who will please the punters, especially after being publicly turned down by a 'smaller-fry' boss like Wigan's, and Moyes would fit the bill.

Can Kenwright resist Lerner's approches, considering there will be a big compensation fee involved?

You are talking like Villa have made a move, haven't heard of them approaching Kenwright.

If they do I think it'll be similar to Whelan and Martinez, I'd imagine Kenwright would clear Moyes for talks if he decides he wants to speak with Lerner.

I think its highly likely that Lerner would have enquired about Moyes, especially if he is openly as far down his wanted list as Martinez.

If Martinez is ahead of Moyes in the pecking order, then I'd be worried if I'm a Villa fan.

I'm guessing Kenwright simply pointed out that Moyes is under contract and refused permission for any contact with Moyes, and Villa, if they are being as gentlemanly as Dave Whelan suggests, simply accepted that position.

What will be interesting is whether Villa remain as professional in their hunt for a manager as the search becomes more desperate??.....Desperate times call for desperate measures....

It certainly does and they may well be getting quite desperate soon.

That's true, if they have made contact it would've probably been a very short phone call but how long will they stay in this gentlemanly position. They originally said they didn't want Hughes and he was not going to be considered yet he's not heading the betting market so if we discount him it's Coyle and Moyes at the top.
