I can't understand why Everton fans and management were so unhappy about us signing. It probably prevented the club having to have a fire sale to pay the bills.
At the time, for me, it was his attitude towards the club it seemed like he had no respect for Moyes or the club the way he went about getting his move. City seemed arrogant in the sense that it was a case of we're loaded we'll sign him if we want, I think that irratated a lot of people in the club, especially the fans. Also I think a lot, me included, it signalled a sign of the modern times that we were, certainly in a financial sense, taken over by City - it was hard to see a player demand to leave to move to you meaning we were really being left behind.
Rio to Spurs has done the rounds for a year or so. I think there would be more chance of that happening than Vida going. Especially as Vidic was made permanent captain ahead of Ferdinand less than 12 months ago.
I suspect that Fergie was hoping he could get away with signing Phil Jones after next season rather than so soon. I also reckon that the chance of losing him to the scousers was something that he wouldn't allow to happen.
I see Moyes has taken the summer off rather than try to sign players. Surely there must be another Tim Cahill, Phil Jagielka or Jermaine Beckfordinho he could pluck from the Championship/League 1?

Hendersons Mother works at the wife's school once a week. She was in today, the deal is £16.5 mil plus Ngog. Afurther £1.5 with apperances (not sure if club or england) total of deal is £19.5.
Henderson is getting his wages x4. She has previously stated he was on £20k per week. And he is getting £2mil signing on fee.

I was saying something similar to our kid last night mate, everytime you hear/see transfer gossip it very rarely concerns us. So far Bothroyd and Long seem the only realistic players we've been linked with. There's no excitement during the transfer window, it's just a case of get through without selling and maybe pick a cheap/free transfer up.
