I think with a better manager and coaching he could excel. Look at Nani, and how he has improved. Also Maxi has kicked on since King kenny has taken over. I still can't decide if you're gonna have a one or two up front.

Where has there been anything official saying that Lorient have accepted a bid for Gameiro? I know the Daily Star were saying we were after him, which says it all.

Even if a deal for Gameiro does go through, doesn't disguise the fact that the rest of our strikers are 'bottom 6 or less' standard.

It's widely accepted in the French media our offer has been accepted. Comes from the same people that broke the Ben Arfa story last year, too. I don't believe anything in the press over here although the NE journos seem a little more on the pulse this year and worth a read but apart from that, nothing interests me apart from what is reported abroad.

Bobby Zamora is being reported as a target if wants to leave Fulham, just what we need given our reputation... someone who has spent lots of time recently on the treatment table and is the other side of 30.


If you say we have had a bid for Gameiro accepted, for 10m, and there is the Cabaye story for 4.5m, as well as Taylor for 1m. Thats business concluded then I would assume, as Pardew was having to make do with the 35m for transfers, wages, fees etc.

In 39 games last season (champs and prem league combined) Gareth Bale only had 11 goals and 3 assists. I just expected him to have alot more.

Zamora doesn't fit in with our transfer policy. Same as Carlton Cole.

If we can convince Gameiro to sign (he's been invited for a tour around our facilities once he's finished his international duty), I'm pretty confident that won't conclude our business for the summer. Abeid and Cabaye have already apparently agreed to sign and Taylor will probably follow shortly. We're in for N'Zogbia and Gervinho (even if you don't like to admit it) too.

You could be right, only time will tell, lik I said he'd do well at United; always having options in the box. I reckon him and Rooney would develop a very good understanding and he could also learn off Giggs. I'd sooner have Young than Downing without a doubt, the same as I'd take N'Zogbia over Downing at Liverpool.
