To be honest I think it's remarkable that Man Utd won the league and made the CL Final. I really don't see where all this quality is in the Man Utd team that everyone talks about. I honestly thought Man Utd would finish 3rd this season and do nothing in europe.
Seeing as the other teams in the Premier League aren't that good it was a 99% probability that Man Utd would wion the League. The team are not as good as others but they work together which is what is needed.
Without any anti-Man Utd sentiment, you just have to say they were completely outclassed.
They were but without Man Utd commiting suicide (Keeper should have had the second goal, Playing a one-two in their own box) they would have taken them to extra time. Still it happens.

United were no worse or better this evening than they have been all season in the Premier League.....Their success in the league just emphasises what most of us have suggested all season, that is that the Premier League has been pretty awful all year, and that a very average, if well organised, United side has won the title at a relative canter.
I can't honestly believe that so many people were pulled into the hype of tonight's occasion and were seriously believing that United had a chance tonight.....As Lineker rightly said, Barcalona would have had to have a nightmare for United to stood a chance.....Apart from a tentative opening 10 minutes, there was only 1 side in it, Rooney's goal, whilst a good one, merely served to drag out the dreams of deluded pundits who should have known better.

The Premier League was pretty dreadful this season and it'll be the same again next year.

People saying the prem was awful need to look around Europe. A post-world cup season will always result in a drop in standards, the majority of good sides suffer the after effects of it. Of course, people will say Barca didn't and they're right, but Barca are pretty much the exception to most rules.
The standards of all competitions should be much higher next year, especially with big activity expected from the wealthier clubs in the league.

Untied did have a chance and i'll say it again. Man Utd commited suicide. Without that it would have been 1-1 after 90 mins. Barcelona were the better side but they needed a gift of 2 goals to put United away.

.....So United's mighty treble-winning side of 98/99 aren't actually that mighty, because they were up against teams in a post-World Cup slump??....
What rubbish.....this season's Premier League was awful....United thoroughly deserved their title win, but there was never a serious challenger to them....The standard throughout was rubbish and I don't think there is a single United fan who will look back on this present United team with the same fondness they do the sides from other successful eras like '94, '96, '99 or the Ronaldo years.

Rubbish......Before the game United were reliant on Barcalona not 'turning up'.....Once the match was under way it became apparent the massive gulf in class.
The so-called gifts you talk about were merely the result of overwhelming pressure......Pressure inevitably leads to mistakes and goals...One way or the other, Barca were always going to destroy you.

Erm i'm not a Manchester United fan that obviously means I am seeing things far more impartially than you are. Barca's second goal was a keeping howler-So a gift. Barca's third goal was a stupid mistake in a defence playing a one-two inside their own box-So a gift. Those are FACTS.
Answer me this question. If the keeper saves number 2 and the defence clear the ball instead of pratting about with it for number 3 how many goals would Barca have scored?
