My worry is that he could use Lucas as Alonso's replacement. Lucas gets a lot of harsh criticism, but even I admit he's average. If we were to sell Xabi, then a player of equal or potentially equal quality should be first choice. Your Hernanes', Martinez's and so on.

After seeing Dani Pacheco this pre-season, I'm starting to wonder whether we do need an attacking midfielder, he's been immense.

I was thinking, I wonder if the RSC-Adebayor partnership could be just as potent as the old Samaras-Corradi partnership? With Tevez being the new Vass, and Robinho being the new Tricky Trev, it seems the Stuart Pearce template has been followed well

All City need now is a Ben Thatcher for the away games

Because Liverpool have scored how many goals in two games?

I think the likes of Pacheco, Nemeth, Darby and Spearing would benefit from loan moves, because I don't expect many of them to feature much.

Doesn't mean he's not impressed. He's easily been the best player in our first two games, and has never looked out of place in the first team, which is more than you can say about Babel

I heard that too
Would be a very good signing in a position we are quite weak in.

That would leave us with little or no money (apparently) to sign a CM; Like someone said i think Lucas is being moulded into Xabi's role which he simply will not be able to fill. Best of luck to him though.

Silva would be a terrific signing IMO

Also Phil Brown looking to sign Voronin from Liverpool according to the Times Gossip column.

 That just highlights how bad things were.

I know pre-season games mean nothing, but did anyone else see yet another clanger from Ben Foster?

Another brilliant mind game from Fergie. I'm sure there must have been about 5 people in the world who believed what he said about no new signings. Just imagine how stupid these people feel now.
