I don't think the Rams thought Pickett was done at all. He had his best year as a Ram in his final season before he left. I was disappointed when we didn't resign him - It was a while back now, but I'm guessing he either wasn't kept due to cap management issues or because it had taken him until his contract year to show what he was actually capable of and we maybe didn't want to risk the all too often scenario of a player performing well to get paid and then relaxing.
