I'm very happy to admit to extreme dumbness on that subject. After his first couple of ganes I did express doubts (having made it clear that I hadnt seen too much of him on the telly) as to whether Silva would cope with the physicality of the premiership. His performances in our last 3 games show that those doubts were unfounded. I think Mancini deserves a fair bit of credit for the way he has eased him into the league. Barring injuries I think he'll make a massive impact in the next few weeks.

Hernandes is obviously a very talented player. My only question would be whether him and Rooney are natural partners.

On the Hernandez/Rooney partnership I would say it could work as Hernandez likes to play off the last defenders shoulder and be in the penalty box whereas Rooney likes to come deep and develop play. I see no reason why it would not work.

Hernandez has settled well and looks very promising but people should not go overboard on their praise just yet, Berba and Rooney would still be my preferred option with Hernandez off the bench.

Do United still play with two upfront?

I thought you pretty much had a lone striker with two wide attackers these days.

Wiht Berbatov being in such good form this season Fergie has found it hard to leave him out and dropping Rooney is in the main a no go so they have both been playing. Since Rooney has gone out of the side it's changed again, depends what competition and opponents.

What stupid nonsense that Hughes made a pigs ear of it. He was on course to achieve the same finish that Mancini did. Citeh were in a poor run when he was fired, but they'd have probably got out of that run and finished the same with Hughes as they did with Mancini.

Mancini is a better, more experienced manager than Hughes. Citeh have probably been justified in replacing Hughes with Mancini. But to say Hughes was making a pigs ear of the job is just ridiculous.
