We need to decide on Horse Racing rules.....Rule 4 and First Past The Post are two areas that might cause controversy.



Also what to do if you pick a non runner, does the 1pm deadline still apply????

It may be me reading wrong but your rules gives me the impression that we can only bet on the outright of football/rugby results etc?

Go with the results which are giving on teletext/ attheraces results section.

We thought that way for simplicity as checking things like last goalscorer, winning margins, HT/FT etc is not as quick as two clicks on Oddschecker

I'd agree with that but I can see someone kicking up a fuss if theirs gets disqualified when in reality most bookies pay out on both winners.



Again it needs to be what the majority think.

Making this simple is the key. I'm in, and I've made on average around 30 pound a profit a day for the last week, but I'm sure my luck will run out by monday.



Also, my strategy at the moment is backing low odds on the horses such as 11/10 and 4/5 etc etc, so I can't see me winning this competition.

Those rules sound pretty good to me.



What about if our selection is a non-runner etc? Break even for the day?

just one small point - during the day i am restricted to 1 till 2 on internet (my lunch hour) so can we make the deadline 1.30 - this will still be before most races

Perhaps we should make it 2pm (of course if you want one in an earlier race it needs to be posted earlier) but the way people use the net an after lunch cut off is sensible.

I may have just read it all properly but to just go over the following...





....So each week goes from Monday to Sunday? and therefore there is an imaginery £10 pound to spend each day of the week, and there will also be a winner each week, and each month?



There will be a table with how much profit a member has won each week?



Who is going to go over each of the results and then publish some sort of results table?



Is there going to be a list before Monday (when the competition will start?)

of all the members that will regularly take part in the competion?



Is there a limit on the odds or can they range from as low as 1/20 to as high as 200/1



Is it only profit that counts when the table is shown? For example people that bet with odds such as 1/20 will keep the daily 10 pound quite often, so surely profit only is the way to go here. (maybe already gone through but I haven't fully read the thread).





....And finally, when the rules are completely wrote up, maybe we could ask a moderator nicely if we could just abandon this thread and start a new thread "the tipster competition" and put it as a sticky.

Nice one all we are getting it together.



Will do the table with the £10 included as if somebody has 3 losers then a winner at say evens it would show just show £10 profit not the minus £30 from previous days. So the new table would show -£20 for the 4 days if you get me.

Only thing to decide is what happens in horse racing if a "winner" gets thrown out after a stewards enquiry.



I'd say the official result (ie after any enquiry) should be the only one that counts but others might disagree.

Monday start seems good to me.

Yeah of course £10 gets deducted for a loser but a 2/1 win would see £20 added not £30 which I think is what your saying too.
