| The Packers run-in could potentially be pretty straight-forward. I said to other NFL fans at the start of the season that if we could get to the halfway point undefeated then we should barring a lapse here and there go 16 - 0. Our toughest games when looking down the schedule pre-season were the Saints on the opening day, the Falcons at the Dome and the Chargers away when they had not lost since 08 at Qualcomm. Last season we played similar to this year but just failed to grind out results and lost a few games by less than 3pts, and then Capers got the defense cooking for the run-in. Everyone seems to expect the defense to become much meaner ahead of the playoffs and to bring teams to Lambeau in January would be a big advantage.
[uRemaining Games[/u
Minnesota Vikings @ Lambeau Field - Had a tough game a few weeks back at the Vikes but Monday Night Football at Lambeau is made for Rodgers and we should win comfortably against the lowest ranked team of our run-in.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Lambeau Field - Another home game and the Buccs seem to have fizzled out a bit, so I'd back us again.
Detroit Lions @ Ford Field - Any game at Ford Field is pretty tough and with the Lions having their best season in a long time, this is 1 of the hardest games for the Pack. A rival game also, much will depend on how the Lions do against Chicago and Carolina before this game. It looked as if the dream season was unravelling with defeats to SF and Atlanta but they crushed Denver before the bye week. Will probably be close but if they go down by 14/21 points then I don't think they'll come back and the Pack should win.
NY Giants @ MetLife Stadium - Our toughest game for the remainder of the season. But NY's 6 -2 record could easily be 6 -5 by the time the Packers roll in to town, with games against SF, Phillie and the Saints to come. If they take 2/3 of those games then it will be a fascinating battle. Hopefully Capers's Defense will be playing tighter at this stage. Close game.
Oakland Raiders @ Lambeau Field - Shouldn't have much if any problems with this one. Sorry Raiders fans.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Arrowhead Stadium - The Chiefs had picked up form in the last few weeks but to be crushed by the Dolphins at home is poor. An efficient performance should see a comfortable win.
Chicago Bears @ Lambeau Field - Any game against Chicago is tough, but we got the game at Soldier Field out of the way so hopefully this game on Christmas Day could take Green Bay to 15 - 0.
Detroit Lions @ Lambeau Field - Much will depend on what our record is going into this one. If we are 15 - 0, then McCarthy may put out a strong team to go for the undefeated season. If we have slipped up once or twice en route but have sealed the #1 seed already, could rest Rodgers and a few others. There is also a chance that the Lions could need this one to get into the Playoffs so will probably be tight. Think it'd be foolish to rest players though - the foundation of our run last year was from 2/3 games out we became a machine with stunning momentum. Same again
So yes - there is a good chance we could finish 16 - 0, but it's likely we will slip up once or twice, possibly against the Giants or the Bears/Lions at the end of the season. Hopefully we'll stay relatively injury free, although to win a Super Bowl with a 2nd string team almost means we have great strength in depth.

For arguing with Pepper Johnson on the sideline
In the snaps he played he commanded 2 triple teams, numerous double teams and won 6 holding calls for the team...so not exactly bad going, is it?
BTW - I said he used to be the most destructive (hence winning defensive player of the year) and still could be if he put in the effort

He got waived. He's therefore unwanted. From that I can assume that he isn't the most destructive DT in the game. You also used the present tense when you said that, not the past.

| He's crap, lazy, overweight, injury prone and a waste of a roster spot. We took a relatively small risk and it didn't pay off so no complaints from me.
I'm not sorry to see him leave, if Ochodropo wants to join him I will be more than happy on his current 'form', I'd rather give a young reciever a chance

You aren't making the playoffs though. It will be Detroit, #2 in the NFC East or #2 in the NFC South.
I agree with what WarwickUni says about our run in.
Vikes- It was close a few weeks back largely because we played too vanilla on Ponder in his first start. I don't expect that to happen again from Capers and imagine we'll win by 14-21 points. If we can get ahead (2 scores) early I don't think they have the ability to chase a game because they will lose the AP factor and have to rely on Ponder.
Bucs- The Bucs are an up and down team. An efficient performance by the defence should see us have enough to get the win.
@ Lions- The game I fear the most. Prime time thanksgiving game. For the first time in a long while they are a relevant team. They have a monstrous front 4 which could knock Rodgers about if our line doesn't play up to standard. If we can give Rodgers time he can burn their secondary. However they also have a very explosive offence with Stafford and IMO the best reciever in the league by a mile, Megatron. I think we get the W but it'll be tight unless we can get off early.
@ Giants- They are a very good team. A lot depends on what Giants/Eli turn up and whether or not our defence has improved slightly. I think we get it done though.
Raiders- Should be a demolition. Palmer is done (and has been for a few years).
@ Cheifs- Should be another demolition.
Bears- I think Rodgers is able to handle the bend and don't break D the Bears use far better than Favre ever was. He is patient and doesn't rush things, not to mention he is incredibly accurate and rarely makes mistakes. I think we win but it'll be close.
Lions- Pretty close but I think we see them off in Lambeau to go 16-0.
I'm sure it comes across as quite arrogant to predict us going 16-0 but A-God is playing on a level which is unparralled. He is on course to break pretty much all QB records. Provided we keep a solid line to protect him there is no reason why he should slow down, our offence has been rolling like this for pretty much a year now and shows no signs of slowing down.
Our defence has looked shaky all year, we are making turnovers but allowing far too many yards. It is a testament to how good Clay Matthews is that he is still making plays and disrupting the QB because he is our only pass rushing threat. If the D can step up a notch or two then I think we are in excellent shape.
If we are to lose any it will be @ Detroit, @ NY or against the Bears.

| Gutted to lose my 7 game winning streak in the fantasy to Ndamukong. That said I had a 5 game lead over 2nd place and it just wasn't worth the risk of add/dropping players on bye weeks to get starters in for 1 game. If I needed to win it (which I wouldn't have anyway!) I would have dropped Bradford, picked up a kicker and made a move for a RB/WR.

| Quote William Bonney="William Bonney"That's how I'd have you down as finishing. Freeman is too erratic with the ball IMHO. Hoping you can win the 4th quarter is a bit of a reach. The Texans will run allover you. The Packers will put 40+ on you. Demarco Murray will go for 150+ against you. Then Cam and Matty Ice will finish you off. Promising young team, just not good enough in what is turning out to be a very balanced NFC.'"
Its not as black and white as that but I can understand where you are coming from. I cant see us losing all of our last 3 games but then again I wouldnt be overly shocked. Freeman has had some bad periods but comes hot again in the same game. If he can gradually improve as the season goes on (he was very good Sunday) then we will compete in all of the games after the Pack game.
Our D has been keeping us in games but again, they can look awesome and awful in the same game. The loss of McCoy for the season lessens our chances. Age shouldnt be an excuse though. It can be a reason for some of the inconsistency but this is the NFL, they need to get over it quick.
Either way, this season was never about "winning the division" even if that was the official aim. For me and most other fans it was about seeing an improvement. So far we have seen our O get worse, but our D has also got a lot better. If we can start to play for longer than 30 minutes a game I will be happy come the end of the season regardless of whether we make the play offs or not.

Think Green Bay will lose a regular season game. Not sure which one but I fancy them to be 15-1 come the end of the season.

I still maintain he was been a better pick than AP. The main problem is that I was scraping the barrel every time my picks came around again. Even if I had picked AP I still think I would be winless. Proof being that in another league I had 1st pick and have only won 2 games this year, and that was with picking AP.

I picked 1st in one of my leagues. I'm 8-1 in it. I took AP like any sane person would. How could you be scraping the barrel? You were in one of the ideal positions where you get back to back picks.

Because I had Torain and Grant as the only (at the time) decent RBs left. I know thats my fault for not taking a RB in the 1st place but still. In the Yahoo league where I picked midish I was top until yesterday. You may not get the top players but you get more all round solid players. In a 16 team league like ours after waiting 32 picks or whatever it was there wasnt a whole heap of quality left.

| Well if you take 2 RBs who are injury prone and weren't guaranteed to start then your always gunna struggle. I would never take a QB in the first apart from Aaron Rodgers and that would only be if all the stud RBs went first. QB is a position where you can pick one up late and the difference between them and an elite isn't gunna be much. Look at Stafford etc. Have to say I hit the jackpot with Newton late in the draft though
BTW you passed on Benson, Greene, Fred Jackson, Best and Felix Jones before you took Torain. The options were there you just had a stinker

Yeah he's definately having a down year statistically. He is still playing well though. He is the only pressure we get. He constantly has to fight double teams and chip blocks but is still pressurising the QB and disrupting the run game.

As a Giants fan I'd much prefer that run in to ours. (@ 49ers, v Philadelphia, @ New Orleans, v GB, @ Dallas, v Washington, @ Jets, v Dallas. I don't think you're too far off with your predictions, although winning 6 in a row is tough in the NFL. The Giants game v San Fransisco this week is massive, if we can win this and then go 3 out of 4 in the 3 remaining divisional games I think we'll do enough to win the NFC East.
