In terms of £££££ the Liverpool shirt deal is excellent. But in practically every other aspect it is just weird.

New Balance are linked with Boston Red Sox because they are the footwear and clothing suppliers to them. They aren't even the main kit sponsors. The Boston-NB deal has obviously lead to this. But why would NB shift the deal over to their hockey and lacrosse brand? Do they know what vile creatures scousers are and don't want their main brand associated with the vermin?

Surely no new top, whoever it's made by, can beat this effort modelled by your typical chirpy scousette.

New Balance is a good brand. Not sure what scousers think of it, but some of New Balance's trainers are smart IMO.

I said at the time I found the Warrior sports thing odd, but I guess New Balance want to kick start Warrior in Europe as a new 'venture'. I just hope it looks good, this is obviously new ground for them, so I'm sure they'll do a bit more research than Adidas, who simply put out the same kits for every club just in different colours.

Used to be a New Balance warehouse on Woolston Grange. Is it still there?

Widnes will be glad to get away from Leigh. They've been regularly pumped, roasted and left in the alley-way by the lobbygobblers. Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.

Perhaps some of the FIFA delegates who backed the Brazilian bid should have thought this through before they spent what was in those brown envelopes?

If the Brazilian government refuses to amend the law just to suit one of FIFA's commercial partners, then IMO FIFA will have to either accept potentially losing Budweiser as a sponsor for the competition or (subject to what is in its constitution) consider moving the World Cup somewhere else that will play ball.

Presumably there are no issues like this in Qatar, given that some other Middle Eastern states are either dry or only permit alcohol to be sold in hotels/restaurants?

Hopefully the outstanding arrogance of the statement from Valcke will make the Brazilian government tell FIFA where to shove their demand.

Apparently they'll be having penned in zones for alcohol monsters.
