The booking was 100% deserved. I was livid with Ivanovic for doing that so early in the game.
But for the rest of the game Rooney and Giggs spent half their creative energy trying to get Ivanovic booked. Some of the time there had been a foul, but a nothing foul that happens 50 times a games. Rooney would then be rolling round like he had a broken leg and Giggs would be there insisting he was booked for it.
And in the second half Rooney really gave himself away with what he was doing. He went down like he'd been hit with a sniper, instantly realised that he hadn't been touched so got up straight away as if nothing had happened.
If Didier Drogba had done what Rooney had done, then he'd have been getting massive abuse from 70,000 United fans. There'd be newspaper debates over the cheating. But because it's Rooney and United, the only response is silence.
