And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

No arguing he was a nutcase, but I was more trying to emphasise about how ridiculous it is that the football world is in such a state about a 'headbutt' which was nothing of the sort.

He wasn't provoked and yet chose to have a go at a player. How far would he have to actually go to get into real trouble in your eyes? Make him cry, draw blood, hospitalise him, kill him?

Although the incident itself isn't that severe, in how many other professions would it be acceptable? If Pardew was working at Tesco for example and Meyler was rushing past to get to the whoopsies section and he did that would he get away with it? If he was a teacher and Meyler a mature student? Office worker? I really can't think of another job, bar possibly the armed forces, where that sort of behaviour would be judged to be acceptable.

I disagree that he wasn't provoked. The Hull City player's shove on Pardew was significantly worse than Pardew's shove on the 4th official.

Meyler's shove on Pardew would be just as liable for the sack if he was working at Tesco's. So would his response of "let me at him, let me at him" afterwards. Just don't compare it with how people are treated in ordinary jobs because different rules apply.

Pretty much anybody involved in pro sports would be forgiven for doing that if they were good at their job. If they were on a high wage and the club thought he wasn't worth the money they'd sack him.

Our poorest player on the park yesterday by a country mile.

He's scored some sublime goals for City, mainly against Spurs, but most of the times his first touch is appalling. I just don't think City's style suits him and expect he'll leave in the summer.

More positively, I would have happily packed Nasri's bags for him at the end of last season but he's been our best (and one of the most hard working) player this season.

And of course we'll never forget that equaliser. It's a shame, but I can't seem him staying.

I thought when we bought him he was a really important player for us: last season a lot of things went wrong, and what we now know about Bobby Manc's school of man management suggests that some of that was at least partly to blame. Nasri's been magnificent thus far this season.

Seem to remember Paul Ince was England captain in the 90's for a time.

The reason he wasn't captain is because there was better candidates than him and ex team mates have said Campbell came across as a tad quiet and distant...and borderline arrogant.

Not sure where the bottling bit comes into it, but for me it proves what I have thought all season and that is there is no one outstanding side in the league.... I think European results have proved we are a country mile behind the best sides in Europe and no disrespect to Liverpool, but the fact they have gone from being a mid table side, to one which is in with a very good chance of winning the Premier League, shows that our standards continue to slip.

From an entertainment point of view though, it probably makes it the most exciting season for quite a long time.
