Other than running back, I'd say we have zero depth. We have the worst starting corner in the league at the moment in Justin King and I don't even know who we're starting on the other side because we've had that many players go down. Our starting linebackers, other than Laurinaitis aren't worthy of a starting position on any team in the league. We've got a decent rotation on the defensive line, although the defensive tackle position needs improving.

Receivers can't catch a cold, the highly overpaid offensive line are failing massively in run blocking and also in pass protection (although I think there'd be less heat on them if the receivers actually started catching the ball) and our promising tight end corps either can't stay healthy (Hoomanawanui) or can't catch the ball despite having magnet like hands in pre-season (Kendricks).

I wasn't expecting miracles this season, but we've taken massive steps backwards with only four games played and I can only see it getting worse with Green Bay and New Orleans to come. By the time we hit the 'easier' part of the schedule, I get the feeling we'll be so devoid of confidence that we'll lose games that we're perfectly capable of winning. Without looking at the schedule, I'm gonna guess that a four win season will be the maximum we'll get this year.

Injuries are part and parcel of the game. We won the SB last year with 15 players (most of which were starters) on IR and we are a young team. We also lost our 2 starting tackles and clawed back a 14 point deficit in the Georgia Dome.

I think leadership plays a big part in how you cope with injuries and set backs. Last year (and all his time with us), McCarthy has never got too cocky when we win, he is never too down when we lose and he never speaks out to the media. He keeps everything in house and has a no excuses attitude which transfers to the players. The same comes from our key vets like A-Rod, Driver, Hawk and Woodson.


We are looking good so far, especially on offence. Rodgers is by some distance the MVP so far this year. Defence still needs to step up for 4 quarters. We've played well in patches but not for a full game yet. 1 thing we absolutely have to do is get some kind of pressure outside of Clay. He is running against 2 men on every single play. He is that good that he is still disrupting the QB and making big plays but he (and the defence as a whole) would be so much better if we had anything on the other side. Walden is garbage, I honestly think I could do his job.

I fancy us to beat St. Louis this week but we wont go undefeated this year. We are still a young team so I expect there to come a game or two where we make too many mistakes, or a defence leaves Rodgers with too much to do.

Talking of injuries Mike Wright has just been placed on IR for a 2nd straight year with concussion, not looking good for him and his career!

It's no wonder they are changing the rules all the time, there seems to have been a lot more concussions in the last few years. Doesn't help when you get absolute nobbers like Brandon Merriweather and Dunta Robinson headhunting all the time!

A great early matchup on sky today. Panthers v Falcons. Not to sure about the next game, be a bit boring watching Brees and co run up 40+ on the Bucs. Thanking god for NFL gamepass.

Christ, we're holding our own against the league's #1 defence, even getting a nice 18 yard gallop for a TD by Brown.

It'll all go tits up eventually and Cincy will win by at least 14, but still, nice to see we can play for 2 quarters

We're actually not playing that badly - just can't consistently do the right things for a whole drive. Could do with getting on the board just to get some confidence.

And just as I type that they score a 93 yard TD - shocking defense.
