Never seen Barca's first decision, but that second decision was spot on. Nesta is an excellent defender but he should have known better than to do that in full view. The only reason they aren't called more regularly is due to the 50/50 nature of shirt pulling in the box, whilst there's usually so much movement, you can't get a clear view on it. However, Nesta chased around Puyol holding Busquets' shirt, then when Busquets fell, Nesta also went down which made the decision fairly easy for the ref. It's frustrating for us because we see it every week in England and the decision almost always goes to the defender, but the ref made the right call tonight, it's just sad that we won't see them more often.
On the manger of the year debate...it has to be Rodgers for me. To bring a team from the championship up and not only play the way they have but to have got the results to go with it. Thats how football should be played. They've got no real big names in their squad either, just a real togetherness, great too see.
Pardew, as much as I dislike him and think he's actually not that good a manager, has done a great job at Newcastle. But with superstars like Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa in you're team, they're always going to win you games.
Next season will be a big test for both managers with higher expectations.

But if it were Pardew's idea to sign players like Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa (I don't know if it was or wasn't) then it makes him a good manager surely.
The Liverpool legends and fans refusing to blame Kenny for the troubles at Liverpool need to take note of that. I listened to one of them on the radio yesterday saying it's the player's fault and the likes of Carroll, Suarez, Adam, Henderson and Downing had scored something like 9 goals between them when it should be more like 40 from those positions. Who signed those players? Kenny did, so it's his fault.
As for manager of the year there are 3 clear candidates for me. Rodgers at Swansea, who has done an unbelievably good job. People have tried playing football before like Blackpool, but none have been able to mould a defense aswell at the same time on very little money. Then there is Pardew who has transformed a side that looked destined for relegation and doom with such a negative vibe about it's ownership into a feelgood paradise and a team challenging for a European place. Then there is Alex Ferguson who has somehow managed to drag his legacy on another year despite immense pressure from Manchester City. Beaten 6-1 at home by City, his team looked a shambles, their new keeper was a failure and it was all over for United. Rodgers will probably get it, but Pardew has been every bit as good as him.

Just wondering, how do you know Kenny signed those players, but don't know Pardew signed his players? Furthermore, Kenny Dalglish was brought in under a Director of Football whose role is to identify and sign players. I've said before, I think the signings were a combination of Dalglish and Comolli, but to put the blame directly at the feet of Daglish and say he signed them, when you clearly have no grasp of the footballing structure at Liverpool, proves, once again, that you are incredibly dim.

Amazing how KKK has no blame for Liverpools flops, but Hodgson was rightly slated for his signings.
