Darren Ferguson possibly.

I think Ferguson would be nuts to take that job. Portsmouth would be nuts to offer it to him.

He's only been a manager for two years. He's done really, really well to win two promotions and in many ways has been treated harshly by being sacked after doing that. But the fact is that Peterborough got rid because they didn't think he'd be able to keep them in the Championship. Why would Portsmouth think that he'd be able to keep them in the PL?

Utd did not deserve to lose and played some good stuff at times. Obertan did well for most fo the game and there is definately more to come from him. Park was excellent especially in the first half and it will be good to have him back.

i think that Obertan is going to be a top player, he looks good already some good skills.

maybe a run in the first team i think he is ready to play more regular.

also saw the premier league scores, congrats to Hull on a good win, although i do think that there just dleying the inevitable, i just cant see the quality in there squad to stay up.

Just Watched the start of the cricket, Aus v WI. i notice even cricket now has a challenge system in where challening the umpires decision is allowed a certain amount of times.

so Tennis, Cricket use this system why cant it be introduced into Football. i understand that it can slow games down if you let them challenge every decision but in tennis your allowed 3 challenges and its a system that works well.

Isn't that the one where if the player wins the challenge, then he doesn't lose one of his/her 3 challenges? With most managers having monitors near the dug out, this could lead to unlimited challenges as they would look at the replay and decide whether to challenge or not, an would probably only challenge if they knew they would get the decision. One way round it could be they get a certain amount of challenges per game and they "lose" (for want of a better word) a challenge whether the decision was correct or not.

Haven't monitors been banned from dugouts ever since Mourinho?

Good thing or bad thing?

I'm all for the idea of the '4th offical' having access to a monitor then be able to inform the referee of any doubts there may be. But only over goals and penalty decisions.

Only problem I foresee is every goal being scored there being several players running to the referee asking them to 'go to the screen'.

Not as often as I would like. Struggle to get tickets when for games that I want to go see and cant afford to go too often anyhow. I find it amusing how you presume I am a bandwagoner when I've supported the team since I was a young 'un in the mid 90s and were struggling as much as we are now.

Good in ways, bad in others. After what Mourinho done with the monitors when he was dragging it out for the ref to look at, I can see why they banned them, but, it was a poor call IIRC so, if they were to bring in a referral system of some sort, surely it would be a bit easier if the coaching staff can watch on the sideline before they refer it, or would it be an on-field decision only?

As for players running to the ref, are you accusing them of being dishonest and trying to con the referee? :o
