he's not done badly for Yorkshire, still was always likely to get the likes of Langer, Hayden and Potning out, especially to the lefty's.
Don't see what Broad offers except plenty of runs.

Hoggard got dropped after 1 bad game in NZ and hasn't been near the side since, even when Pattinson got picked at Headingley. That to me says there's more to his non-selection than meets the eye. Also, performances in County Cricket can sometimes be taken with a pinch of salt, I'd rather pick players on quality, perceived or otherwise, than pure statistics.
Not saying I'd have had him in my side, but I do think he should be talked about, even now.

The Aussie bowlers seemed to get more from the pitch than we are currently. They were getting swing and movement and were beating the outside edge a fair bit whereas the aussies seem to be scoring at will.

I make it only 3 Aussies Ponting, Clarke and Hussey that have survived the 2005 series.

Think Matty Hoggard should be in the team myself, proven against the Aussies.
So was Vaughan. And Harmison. And Jones. And Jones. And Banger.
I'm sure they we're all available to play.

S Jones is injured, Vaughn really has been poor since (and is retired) Harmison same boat as Hoggard IMO unlucky to miss out.
