Have seen the Valencia incident again. Broadfoot slides in from the side and knocks the ball out of play. Unfortunately Valencia's trailing leg gets trapped under the body of Broadfoot. The pressure of that seems to have broke the leg just above the ankle.

What an arrogant fool Ferguson is. He makes 10 changes and his 'new breed' cannot break down a defense lead by a 40 year old.

United were terrible, 10 changes is the root cause of that and also the fact that none of the changes made the team better. Is the Champions League now not as important as the Premier League or was he just showing a bit of distain for Rangers and the Scottish leagues?

Resting players is not an answer as it's so soon in the season that not even the 35/36 year olds in the United team would be needing a rest.

Or maybe he was vexed off with the lot who played at the weekend throwing away a 2 goal lead in injury time?

Possibly, but the likes of Berbatov and Scholes were largely excellent against Everton. It's really unprofessional from Ferguson, you get the easy games won to create dead rubbers later on when he can mess about, you don't approach early games as if they are dead rubbers. All it would take now is an away defeat to Valencia and they will be putting themselves under pressure, making the third game a must win in a group that should have been one of the easiest ever to qualify from.

I'm not sure that it the case.

In 1999, Fergie practically had 2 separate squads for the league and for the CL and other cups. He realises that there are a lot of games to be played in a season and to expect the same players week in week out to play is ludicrous.

He tries to get a 2nd team playing together so that there is the option to rest players.

Why have a large squad if you're not going to keep them fit with game time.

Why arrogant? He had said all week how tough a game it would be as he knew Smith would have everyone behind the ball and show new attacking intent whatsoever.

Look at the side, lots of quality players and many who often feature in the big games for Utd. Okay no Vidic/Evra but we were hardly going to need our defence too much anyway. Scholes and Berba might have made a difference but Gibson played well and Fletcher/Park often play in Europe anyway.

They were hard to break down and it did not help that Rooney was awful.

Broken ankle and suspected dislocation too.

Awful injury, hopefully he gets back soon, for himself, and a selfish POV. We need him. He's a massive threat, and one of the only players' in the squad who can get a decent ball into the box. If Rooney's ever going to score in open play again he'll need it putting on a plate.

Fergie has a history of making wholesale changes. The defence was never worried, so it's good to give fringe players like Brown and Smalling a run out. They shouldn't be anywhere near the team on Sunday.

I can understand why he made the changes. We've been poor in the League so far this season, so we need our top players fully fit for Sunday's game against Liverpool. Even at this stage of the season, it's looking like a must win to give us any hope of winning the League.

He knew that the team he played wasn't going to lose to Rangers, and there should've been enough to beat them. But, fair play to Rangers, they did what most teams try to do at OT and packed the midfield and defended solidly at it came off. In the first game in Europe it's important not to lose. We should still qualify pretty easily from this group.

Group stages of the CL are abit of a joke really. 10 changes to a team? Instead of playing their best 11. Glad Rangers grabbed a draw.

Glad Rio is back. Even an out of form Torres should run him and Vidic ragged.

Hopefully.

Please.
