If, and it's a big if, you can get the best out of Ibrahimovic then he would be the best for me. He hasn't done it in the big games yet though I think he may well finally come of age at Barca. The lads skill is absolutely sublime. Torres is almost certainly the best out and out striker in the Premiership though Rooney is up there as well. Surprised me but Rooney has got more international goals than Torres in less appearances.

I think Barca getting Ibra was a good and bad move. Having the aerial threat that Ibra provides makes them more complete, but he isn't mobile enough and he doesn't give them what they need consistently up front. He's now slow, but he doesn't run the channels, he won't play off the shoulder and he gets involved too much in the build up. Eto'o was almost perfect for them, Villa would have been perfect but they way overspent on Ibra.

Despite Ibrahimovic having all the tools, isn't it the point that he doesn't use them often enough? It's like saying Ian Harte is the best left-back in the world, because he scores goals.

Completely biased as a Red, but I'd rather have Torres over Drogba, Ibrahimovic and Rooney.

Can't believe he's scored 18 league goals having had so long out this season.

Drogba 24 league goals in 26 games. Rooney 26 in 29. Torres 18 in 21.

Can't believe he's played in so many games with the amount of whining scousers have done about him being out.

Kin hell. Should have got Ronnie Moran on as well and changed the title to The Boot Room, far too many scousers eating up license fee payers money.

As far as I know, they were in the stands watching the game, not actually sat on the MOTD sofas.

Re: More football chat : Tue Mar 30, 2010 10:22 am
The European places have been 'explained' by the FA....clear as mud

As a result of Manchester United's Carling Cup win, sixth place in the Premier League is now a Europa League spot.

And depending on events in the FA Cup, seventh place could also be good enough to secure European football.

But with the semi-finals not yet played and three of the teams involved in the last four also fighting at the top of the league, there are a sizeable number of different permutations.

The FA have confirmed the below:

* If the winner of the the FA Cup qualifies for the Champions League, the domestic cup runner-up qualifies for the Europa League.
* Should both the winner and the runner-up of the domestic cup qualify for the Champions League, the domestic cup Europa League place would revert to the League
* If the FA Cup winners have already qualified for the Europa League via the league, the Europa League position reserved for the domestic cup winner would revert to the League.
