Outside of our starters, we have very little depth on defense. The linebacking corps has been poor for a number of years - outside of Laurinaitis there really is no one of starting calibre and our secondary is terrible.
Offensively we're short of veteran players with experience. Sims-Walker, while decent, isn't the answer as far as a number 1 receiver is concerned and it's showed so far this year. Bradford seemed to have time to throw on a number of occasions and was taking sacks and getting hit because it was taking him an age to throw - one of the things about watching American football on television is you often can't see the receiver routes developing on plays but I'd take a guess that on a lot of the plays our guys just weren't getting open.
I don't think we're as bad as the performance on Sunday and I think we'll compete with Washington this weekend - whether or not we win is another story though.
