I personally think you could swap a Moyes/Martinez/Rodgers for a Benitez/Mancini and you would get identical, if not better results.
Seems to me that billionaire owners just want the glamour of paying big bucks for over rated foreign managers, than save a few quid on less famous and hype-free coaches.
You yourself should know that judging Moyes is particularly challenging. You all raise the same questions whenever people ask. They usually include:
How good is he with a lot of money?
Can he sign the necessary strikers?
Is he too negative at times? I remember when you all used to plead for him to play two up top but he'd end up playing one with Phil Neville and Osman in midfield.
At Everton, he's boss and everybody knows it. What happens when he walks into a changing room with egos like Terry, Drogba, etc.?
He doesn't have experience of the Champions League
He doesn't have experience managing a team that are favourites every game
He's very 'deep' about his scouting and spends a lot of time casting his eye over players, could he adjust if somebody else was to sign his players?
Put it this way: I don't think Moyes could have won the league with Valencia, I don't think he'd have won the CL with Liverpool and I definitely don't believe he'd have kept us in the top 4 for as long as Rafa did. I imagine you and the majority on here will say Moyes is better than Rafa, but I really haven't seen enough from Moyes so far to confirm that. Maybe when/if he gets a top job he will, but I can't see him getting any of the 'big three' jobs.
