The last thing we need to do at City is get rid of Mancini.
If we don't win the league I agree it will be a dissapointment but just because money has been spent it doesn't mean we've a god given right to win anything.
The key is stability, we haven't had that for 20 years. Mancini has had us playing great football this year and has proven strong enough to deal with egos. (Tevez was the one who came back with his tail between his legs).
It's gone wrong since Feb but hopefully the team will learn and grow. Every year since Mancini has been in charge we've improved. I see no reason why that wouldn't continue.
I agree, with the caveat that we started losing form from late December.
It will be disappointing to finish the season without any trophies but the current team is much better than it was 12 months ago, and that team was much better than it was 24 months ago...
I don't think we'll be big net spenders in the summer but I expect there'll be some turnover in players. Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko, De Jong, Johnson, Kolo Toure, Kolarov could all be going, plus the existing loaned out players. But the core of the team (Hart, Richards, Kompany, Yaya, Silva & Aguero) is exceptionally strong and getting better. And players like Zabaleta, Barry, Milner, Lescottt, Clichy are well worth hanging on to.
Mancini has had his failings (overplaying Silva in the first half of the season being the main one) but I'd be very disappointed if the owners didn't stick with him. But he does need to address our poor away form and get more pace into the team.
