Sky sports suggesting Rooney wants out. If Dead Man Walking can get a £20m I'd take it. His best days have been behind him since he hit 20 sadly.

In 2009/10 and 2011/12 he scored 34 goals in 44 games in both seasons.

United would be considerably weaker without Rooney. Who would they replace him with given most of the elite strikers have already moved this summer?

Rooney's situation is simple, he doesn't want to be a backup to RVP. Simple. Just play him with him or in behind him and play him in every game. Ferguson dropped him for Welbeck a few times last season, which is never excusable as he's terrible.

Did you hear Titus Bramble's comments the other day? Something is definitely going on there for him to say something like that, whether true or not.

Missed that, what did he say?

EDIT: Just found it, strong words. I know outgoing players often sound-off, but I'm not sure I remember Bramble ever being too vocal before, so he must feel quite strongly about it.

Let's not forget that Shinji Kagawa, who is better than Eden Hazard, will be unleashed next season.

When Ronaldo left it was of no consequence to Man United because Rooney was more important anyway. Alex Ferguson's left, they appoint Moyes and that's the perfect appointment because he's a miserable Scottish nice bloke who's been at a club a long time too.

Rooney's past it now, obviously. His best days were before he even had a medal to his name.

Is this what you're talking about? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... learn.html

TBH I'd be on Di Canio's side over that. Di Canio had 5 minutes in charge of Sunderland. He was appointed to save them from relegation and he did his job. I wouldn't expect the job that Di Canio does from the start of this season to be anything similar to the one he was doing when he was fighting relegation. If you're doing everything to save the club from relegation and some git doesn't show up for a training session of course you fine him.

He points to Bobby Robson being a great man-manager, but Robson took Craig Bellamy's side over a coach who Bellamy threw a chair at. Craig Bellamy thinks that was awesome man-management, but Bellamy is a grade A ****.

If Mourinho genuinely thinks that Rooney > Mata, then he certainly is "special"

Can't comment on the training no-show as I have no idea how much truth there is in Bramble not being told about it. Agree with him about Wickham though, that should have been kept in house. I can also see why Di Canio isn't happy with Bardsley.

I'm mainly surprised that it has come from Bramble, as he hasn't previously seemed the sort to go public on stuff like this himself, unless I've just missed it.

'Legend' is a world that gets overused.

But Bert Trautmann was a bona fide legend and a gentleman.

Very sad news. But he'll never be forgotten.

I want Rooney to leave, Utd fans don't seem to appreciate him. Whenever they lost last season it seemed to be him who would get the criticism from the fans.

To me he's a better all round player than Van Persie and either way is certainly better than playing 2nd fiddle for a team.
