Well the Man United angle merits a whole two lines in a full page on the BBC News website.

Given that none of the dead are British, I'm surprised it features as high up the news agenda as it does tbh, and without the Man United connection it probably would have been even lower.

I'd agree with you entirely. But unfortunately that's the way certain news bodies deal with such things.

I always used to find that, for instance, Press Association would do this sort of thing and Reuters would report things much more seriously.

Since his contract was ended, I imagine it would have been quite difficult to put an embargo on Owen leaving.

Placing an embargo on all transfers is the best thing that could have happened though. This is nothing more than people trying to have a dig just because it's Newcastle - pathetic really.
