Mine was a genuine question. Is this Welsh side as good as they're being made out to be? Personally, I would say no.

The major difference in the two governing bodies is without doubt the marketing, but the locality of the two sports (certainly in this Country) lends a hand to that. Rugby League needs to fire the tennis guy and the fat guy off and bring stomebody in with some balls.

Gf - dont get sucked into beleiving that everyone at Twickers has paid to be there.

I think the 3 test tour to Australia in the summer will answer that question for us

While this Welsh side has some talent and athletic players, it is certainly being talked up in the press

I always smile at the plaudits the Welsh side is getting. Considering England won the Six Nations last year and then went to the World Cup and lost one game and the Welsh lost 3 games (2 if we are generous and discount the 3rd/4th place play off which is not really a competitive fixture) and they actually both got knocked out by the same team by a score differential of 1 and 7 points respectively there isn’t that much in the two sides as far as I can see. And yet one was at its lowest ebb and the other were world beaters

I can happily say that in the 30 years+ I have been attending events at Twickenham Stadium, I have never once paid for ticket(s).
Last time we attended a Union game there was as "competition winners" in METRO.....I have also been there as a competition winner of various other publications and media shows....

I have never won a competition in my life.....I have never entered a competition in my life

Interestingly, I have been to a number of events at the CAKE tin here in Wellington since I arrived in 2009..........can't recall paying for any of them either....it's a GIFT!

Exactly my point. This England side is a work in progress etc etc and yet came a bugs d1ck away from sharing the title with this all conquering Welsh side.

Is scrum-half one of the missing links in this England side?

Neither Dickson nor Youngs impress me. A fit and firing Danny Care could have made an improvement to the side IMO.

They must think they can use this as away of showing exciting union. The issue with this comp is that its full of made up teams or the actual teams that do show up for this are now full of squad players and kids.

How can they show 'exciting union' by playing rugby league? At least rugby league will get some exposure in the national media.
