Some good driving today, will be interesting to see if Brawn can keep it up once other teams adjust.

Not so fast. He was given a post-race penalty of 25 secs which meant he finished 12th. Vendetta or what, after being put to the back in the first place?

At least he got some champagne, as he was penalised after the press conference and presentation ceremony.

He didn't get a go on the jelly, though. :)

No chance he gets anywhere near a podium. Frankly i can't see him getting near the points. There is only so much that greater skill can give you. If his car isn't good enough no matter how much skill he shows he won't be able to do much.

I expect him to get to about 10-12th.

Not only is ST CONROY no good at predictions in the NFL thread he's started to show how good he is at prediction on this thread.Keep up the good work mate  :D

Thing to remember about Brawn is that last year they decided that since their car was so cack, and that this year's cars were going to be so different, the thing to do was to sack off last year and work on the car for this one. They've been practising for about 9 months more than the rest now with this years car.

Bet Honda are kicking themselves now

What do you think of the new TV presentation team? As usual the BBC is being profligate with our licence fee, and attacking the thing mob-handed with a team of around 10.

Brundle and Kravitz we know. I quite like Jake Humphrey and Eddie Jordan. Main commentator Jonathan Ledgard was a bit nondescript, and his voice will take a bit of getting used to, but the biggest disappointment was David Coulthard. He was definitely 'jargon boy' and was as dull as ditchwater. I'm not really into the minutiae of downforce and gearing profiles, like our lantern jawed hero.

You're missing the most important bit of the BBC coverage. Two words: 'Fleetwood' and 'Mac'. ITV was always on a loser, because the BBC have the proper theme tune. :-)

Rules is rules, you break 'em, you pay.

Unless you're Ferrari, obviously.

IIRC when that final accident happened, Hamilton was in 3rd. There were immediate waved yellows which means no overtaking unless there is a subsequent green flag waved, then the safety car came out. So the only way he could have got past Hamilton was to overtake under waved yellows. Even if he subsequently gave the place back, it's still an offence.

Didn't Toyota hold their hands up to the illegal kit on their car?

I Think It's One Of Those Rules That's A Shambles Far Enough If He Did Overtake But Just Demote Him To 4th Those No Need To Give Him A 25 Second Penalty...

Well, normally he probably would still have got 4th, but on this occasion all the cars were squeezed up because of the safety car for the last 3 laps. :)

Ahh, that explains the times between drivers I saw listed (didnt get round to watching beyond lap 6-7 of the race, and assumed from the results and times that things were a lot closer this year. Oh Well.

To be fair, it was a relatively close race, as indicated by the way Hamilton was able to carve through the field. Don't think Button was ever more than 4-5 seconds clear at the front.
