Some ridiculous comments on here, I'm afraid.....Whatever history Harrison has, and I wholeheartedly agree that he has been THE most frustrating boxer of his generation, last night's victory was a brave one.
There was absolutely no question that Harrison had a bad injury to his right arm from very early on in that fight. No boxer chooses to fight one handed!!....What was most ridiculous was that the so called expert, Jim Watt, was still talking about it being some sort of ploy right upto the end. Thankfully, Nicky Piper had the brains to realise the truth.
To be honest, I thought that Harrison should have retired with his injury at around the midway point, as it was looking like he had little to give, and if he had got through the 12 rounds with his injury and then started giving the reason for his performance, most detractors, given Harrison's history, would have tore him apart and refused to acknowledge the truth.
Certainly, Harrison got lucky, but he surely deserved it, based on the fact that it took some balls to put himself through what must have been a painful night, both physically and mentally, as he must have realised that his career was slipping slowly away....I only hope that last night can be some sort of turning point for him, not just in his own career, but in the eyes of fight fans who have rightly questioned his heart and desire.
