Was he charged for the stamp on RvP?

If so, how can they charge him for that but not Bosingwa for his challenge on Benayoun last year?

He isn't innocent. I just think there has been a hideous over-reaction with regard to the celebration. In my opinion the stamping deserves the three matches, if found guilty, the other would not.

One thing is for sure, it's probably cost us any chance we would have had on Sunday as we will have no player to lead the line and, despite the alleged ten forwards, it looks like we will only have Bellamy left available.

Never mind, we waited 34 years to win there, I never expected us to do it twice in eighteen months.

There were two reported injuries from those incidents. One was a little scratch on RVP's face. The other was a steward losing conciousness and needing to go to hospital.

There were two massively different reaction times for those incidents. One was an instant reaction that can barely be seen in real time. The other took probably 15 seconds from start to finish.

He should be done for the celebration* and get off with the stamp. Cristiano Ronaldo got off with his blatant kicking of SWP (?) last season. Rooney gets away with more than that about 10 times a game.

*Depending on the rules about punishing players already punished by refs.

Just a question about the stamping incident and live TV.

What was the response from the commentators when that incident happened?

Did they flag that as a serious incident at the time, or was it just when RVP cried about it after the game that it became a serious issue?
