Portugal are only a tiny step up from Greece in terms of attacking ambition, they don't deserve to progress.

On the technology debate, IMO there are only 3 instances they should be looking at introducing it for:

1. Did it cross the line;
2. Inside or outside the box;
3. Onside or offside.

It can only be applied to questions with absolute answers, not when interpretation is needed. Those decisions need to remain purely with the referee. Those situations should also require less delay in play.

Capdevia should be banned for the rest of the tournament for that shocking piece of play acting

Glad Portugal went out, you can understand limited teams playing like that but they have too many good players to need play so defensively - look what happened against Korea when they cut loose.

Totally agree, they seemed to have small team syndrome. When they played decent opposition they just put 8 men behind the ball. Should have had more belief in themselves.

From most of the replays it looked like there was absolutely nothing. From the side, wide angle, long distance shot it looked like there was accidental contact early in the jostle, but that was well before the sniper got his shot off.

What about hand ball? e.g. Luis Fabiano and Maradona.

If used for handball why not for any other foul play?

Any introduction of video technology might be great for TV companies and people sat on their booty at home, people who actually go to games will soon find it inhibits their enjoyment of the game.

Microchips in the ball giving instant recognition of a goal maybe something non-intrusive that can be done, anything else and the essence of the game goes further down the road to ruin.
