west ham paid him 83k a week for four years, as well as a 425k per-season image rights deal and a 100k p-s 'loyalty' fee.
on top of the 6m they paid to buy him, his signing fee, agents fees, and all the time and money he cost them to treat his constant injuries, he must've absolutely bled them.

in those four years, he made 34 appearances for the club (don't think he actually completed 90 minutes) and didnt score a single goal in any competition. the mind boggles to think how much he must've cost them per appearance considering all the possible payments made my west ham and what they got in return.

cant blame him for laughing to the bank though, stupid decision from the west ham money men not to have clauses put into his contract, or certain payments to be triggered after he played a certain amount of games/minutes.


so, why qpr have offered this contract to him is beyond me. 33 years old, probably still on a decent wedge, and he's a midfielder who's legs went years ago.

Didn't see much of the "born winner" as a manager. A "born winner" doesn't walk out on his country before a World Cup (although that obviously isn't of importance to Manc fans, who only care about England when they want one of their players named as captain.)

Roy Keane didn't choose to celebrate because he was utterly gutted to not be playing. He didn't care that his club were being crowned European Champions. He was too caught up in himself to be happy for his friends and colleagues.

I don't know what John Terry is like as a person. I don't know what Roy Keane is like as a person. But John Terry's response of total delight at seeing his team mates win the Champions League was a million times better than Roy Keane treating United's CL win like the death of a loved one.

Everyone moaning about Terry celebrating, how about Meireles who was right at the front in a full kit or Jamal Blackman the 4th or 5th choice 'keeper in a full kit celebrating like he had just won them the penalty shootout?

They didn't lift it at first though, did they? Nor did they get sent off for an act of a stupid coward.

As I said, I wouldn't mind Terry getting in on the celebrations, he played his part getting there, but to be lifting the cup as though he was the cup-winning captain. Embarrassing.
