Great start to the season for the Blackhawks 2 wins,11 goals and Hossa and Kane looking like they could be back to their best. The n/m is still a worry.
In the East Pittsburgh have started well while Philly and NYR have lost both their games so far.
In the west St Louis thrashed Detroit who look like they'll miss Lidstrom a lot while the usual n/m controversy is happening in Vancouver.
It is indeed a great start by the Hawks and Hossa seems to have made full use of the lock out and come back ready willing and very able. The pleasing thing for me with the start so far is they have gone back to what they did so well in the Cup Winning year and that is rolling 4 lines rather than cutting to 2 & 3. This has meant the players are staying fresher in a game and can keep the energy and speed up which was lacking last season.
For me Emery is a worry as some of the goals he let in against the Yotes were awful, but that said netminders do start a little rusty until they have had games.
Big test is coming up againt the Blues who again look very strong with their Russian starlet Tarasenko starting his NHL career well with 5 pts from the first 2 games, the Hawks will have to watch him. Interesting to see Hitchcock naming Elliott as the starting n/m for the Blues tonight after pulling Halek in the 2nd period against the Preds, hope the Hawks pepper Elliott as with over 30 shots by the Blues in their first 2 games their offense is on it.
Should be a cracking a game.
Hawks have aquired Henrik Karlsson from the Flames for a draft pick and assigned him to Rockford.
