The Zidane statue is supposed to be an ode to defeat not a celebration of Zidane. Given that it's by an Algerian born artist you could argue that it's a memory of resistance as well.

If the Suarez and Terry incident were the same you would probably be right but my understanding (and I've not read the Terry reports like I have the Suarez stuff) is that Terry wasn't repetitive in his racist abuse towards Ferdinand. I'm happy to be corrected if that's not so. It's only the same as a penalty for punching somebody once will probably carry a lesser suspension that multiple punches would.

Barton is a serial offender. He committed multiple offences during the same incident, so was punished for each offence he committed.

Suarez had the same basic 4 match ban, but his was multiplied because of the repeated use of racial slurs.

The main inconsistency from the FA is that they charged Terry for foul and abusive language but didn't charge Anton Ferdinand, even though he was clearly guilty from the evidence he himself gave at the court. The FA's excuse is that they don't want dissuade people from giving evidence, but that's bull****, IMO.
