Having now seen the highlights, correct decision to send Shelvey off, he clearly went to injure Evans, Evans should have been booked. Was a penalty, shove in the back from Johnson. Great dive from Suarez too

Not seen the match but decided I'd watch a replay of the red card. Not sure how people can really see Evans' challenge as less deserving of punishment than Shelvey's. They were almost identical, both lunges and wild. However, what I really can't understand is the unbelievable ignorance towards Evans. You talk of Suarez's dive yet Evans' reaction really is up there with Busquets and the like. Don't think the tackle deserved a red, a yellow to both or red to both, but never one innocent, one completely guilty.

Evans won the ball, Shelvey went over the ball and into Evans leg.
Shelvey clearly made contact with Evans. The speed both players were going and the way they both dived in then it's not unreasonable to think he was hurt.

What on earth were you watching?
Evans get to the ball first, which in these situations is always enough. He plants his left foot and actually kicks the ball with his right. There was nothing reckless about Evans' involvement at all, and nothing wrong with his reaction either, take the blinkers off.
Shelvey's right foot goes up Evans' from his ankle to his calf.
The best viewpoint is the slow mo from behind Shelvey, where you can see the referee's left shoulder on the right of the screen.
LFC fans love a good twitter picture dont they? There was one going around 'proving it was Evra who refused Suarez's hand'...now there is one 'proving that Evans should of been sent off as well'....
Probably because he should of been. Stuart Holden knows how Evans tackles.
He tweeted: "I've seen that tackle before". Holden is still out 12 months later.

Are you dim? Evans leaves the ground and lunges right in with two feet in the air. Put 'Shelvey' into a well known video site and watch the replay, Shelvey's foot barely touches Evans and actually seems to block the ball from being cleared. There is no way you can honestly say Evans went into that challenge with control, he's in the air and both of his feet are moving together to make a two footed challenge. It's highly reminiscent of the challenge between Kyrgiakos and Fellaini all those years ago, when Fellaini and Soto probably should have been sent off, but only one person was despite having his ankle surfed on. I imagine you turned a blind eye to that as well, conveniently.
Tottenham's biggest problem is that they truly believe they are a big club and have a God given right to be winning trophies, when in fact they should be happy being a consistant top six side.
Now, I'm no fan of 'Arry Redknapp, but he did manage to bring stability to the club, something that Spurs have never ever had in my lifetime....Unfortunately, the know-nothings in charge of the club allowed themselves to get carried away again and fired him.
Obviously, I'm going to say this as an Evertonian, but the trust and faith put in David Moyes is a great example of how a football club should be run - I read Robbie Savage blathering on about how great Moyes would make Everton if had £40-£50 million to spend, yet, like many, fails to see that the reason for Everton's supposed over-acheivement over the years, is simply through continuity.
I firmly believe the worst thing that could happen to Moyes and Everton would be a huge influx of cash as it would disrupt things so much - A regular input of £5-£10 million per year + any cash from sales is all Moyes, or any decent manager actually needs.
THFC think they are a big club, not their fans - we know our place and that place is well behind the Gooners just as Everton is behind LFC and Man City well behind Man U however much money they care to spend - but THFC are a decent sized club who for some reason seem to get these delusions of grandeur - two 5th places wasn't good enough with Jol and you saw how they treated 'Arry
total repect for Moysie from just about every fair minded football fan - top coach and well done Bill Kenwright for giving the vote of confidence early doors

Do you think that's because they're all ethical men or more to do with the fact that they can't afford to let Moyes go or they'll be in bigger trouble than they could ever imagine?
